A Chicago White Sox scout hosted a camp for local 11-14 year old players to show them what a pro baseball tryout is like. Of interest is their tracking system and how they feel comfortable “making an investment” in a player.
Pay heed to this as the teams, even at the independent minor league baseball level, are making an investment in you as you are not specifically a revenue stream to them like a ticket sale or sponsorship sale. Do what you can to become a “worthy investment” including the intangibles like community service, going to team functions to meet with college alumni donors, etc.
